Inspiration

Do you know what the word "inspiration" is?

I was told that it's made out of the component words "in" and "spirit", in other words, it's about getting "in spirit", meaning being motivated and excited about yourself and your life. By doing so you're at one with all connections with your mind and body that makes it possible for us to take action to make all things we desire possible.

But, you and I both know that this state of mind is a rarity, especially to surrounding factors that often encourages otherwise. Doors to inspirations are often shut but it's really up to you to open it.

Here are the 8 keys that can help open these doors:

1) Enjoyment. It would take a spiritual master (or a nut) to enjoy washing the dishes or taking out the trash, or to slave on on something you don't really like.. so find something you really excites you. It can be anything you really enjoy.

2) Love. If you are not actively pouring love into what you are doing, you're not opening yourself to experiencing more inspiration.

3) Trust yourself.  As Shakespeare once said: "Our doubts are traitors and make us lose the good we oft might win by fearing to attempt." So listen to that little voice inside yourself and know that this comes from heart. This is intuition. Follow what your intuition tells you. The more you listen to it, the stronger your intuition will become. If you don't pay attention, that little voice gets fainter and fainter until you can no longer hear it.

4) Tell yourself: "I can". These are some of the most empowering words that you can ever use. When you say this to yourself often enough, you build abridge between yourself and your inspiration.

5). Do not to listen to anyone that says "no you can't". They might think that they may not be able to, and try to project this negative belief onto you, but remember to keep telling yourself that, "I can!" Remember that even Einstein was once a school dropout and he was even told by his teachers that he was inept and will not amount to anything. Look at who he is now. Could he have gone to become the father of modern physics if he submitted to negativity?

6). Believe in yourself. When you are backed by a strong belief in yourself and your dreams, nothing is impossible.

7). Acceptance. Accept that on some days you feel much more inspired than on others. This is normal, nobody can be completely inspired every minute of the day. So don't let one unproductive day get you down.

8). Last but not least, take action every day, no matter how small a step it seems. Action is the fuel to the fires of inspiration. Make it a daily practice to keep your fire burning. The taking of actions, no matter how small, will fill you with inspiration for taking the next step. Remember, Rome was not built in one day!
